Telemecanique Sensors introduces updated range of miniature optical sensors

New manufacturing processes, digitized and more focused on e-commerce and logistics, have driven the growth of material handling applications such as automated storage systems and warehouse solutions, internal transport systems and packaging machines. One of the critical components at the heart of the machines in these applications is the sensor.

Choosing the new XUM miniature optical sensor from Telemecanique Sensors provides the assurance that you have the most universal technology available. The sensor works as a non-contact sensor using light detection and can operate in different modes depending on the conditions. With a detection distance of 100 mm to 15 m in one of four different detection modes, the XUM photoelectric sensor can be used in virtually any application.

Increase your production speed

Even in highly lit environments and at high speed, the XUM detects targets to every half millisecond. Combined with an unmatched detection distance, the XUM's anti-interference mode enables side-by-side installations for complete, fast detection coverage over large areas.

Simplify your machine integration

The XUM miniature optical sensor is small in size and has a rugged, corrosion-resistant housing for quick installation in compact spaces, even in harsh industrial applications and EMC environments. A sensitive potentiometer allows you to easily control the sensing distance and output settings in all modes.

Top-level quality and performance:

- Detects at distances up to an industry-leading 30m
- Anti-interference mode allows side-by-side mounting of 2 sensors
- Highly insensitive to bright environments, detects even at 40k lux sunlight and 10k lux incandescent light
- Fast detection with a switching frequency of 1kHz and a response time of 0.5ms

Easy integration:

- 2 potentiometers to easily configure detection distance and output functions
- Miniature size (20mm x 34mm x 11mm) for installation in limited spaces
- Rugged PBT plastic housing proven to be as robust as metal housing
- Highly resistant to water with IP65, IP67

Stimac - Good technical support for ever-changing specifications
If the description for an automation project is clear from the start, it is easy for the industrial automation specialist to give it substance. In practice, however, specifications often change during the course of a project. This happened to Stimac/SNK when designing the control technology for a horticultural machine. For the problems that arose during the process, itsme quickly provided Stimac/SNK with a solution. “When a customer calls us, we respond immediately. So it’s nice to have a supplier like itsme who can also help immediately.”
