IMI Norgren: Excelon® Plus.

Modular compressed air supply for all industrial applications

Compressed air is used in almost every industry sector, from car making to busdoor opening, from food processing to mining and shipbuilding. IMI Norgren compressed air has preparation supplied clean, conditioned compressed air to these sectors for more than 40 years.

In fact, when Carl Norgren invented the first automatic lubricator in 1927, he started out with compressed air preparation : supplying the right quality of air to a pneumatic device, which allowed the device to operate optimally for as long as possible and to minimize life cycle costs.
Since then, IMI has  continued to develop top products in the field of compressed air preparation. Today, IMI Norgren's compressed air preparation  products are used worldwide and, thanks to their quality, reliability and robustness, they  have the reputation of being the best!

Compressed air is a safe and reliable source of energy, if used and handled correctly. Compressed air is often wrongly assumed to be a cheap or even 'free' energy source. But, that is ‘t: compressed air costs about the same as natural gas when it is used!  It is therefore important that the correct equipment is installed to control the air supply.

Cost reduction

A well-designed compressed air supply system keeps costs low by:
  • Keep leakage to a minimum. Check on a regular base the system for leakages. Itsme offers a leakseak service
  • Use shut-off valves  for rarely used parts of a system
  • Use pressure regulators correctly -  optimized  pressure saves air
  • Use filters with the correct mesh size - filtering too fine costs money!
  • Make the system simple - less pressure drop
  • Use compressed air equipment in the correct size - less air loss

Meet Excelon® Plus

Excelon® Plus is the latest generation of compressed air supply equipment from IMI Norgren, developed to meet the harsh condition at today's customer. The equipment delivers exceptional performance, is compact and lightweight without losing  robustness, and is suitable for all industrial applications.

Excelon® Plus is designed with safety in mind and padlock attachments have a unique double locking mechanism on the reservoirs. Maintenance of the unit has been simplified thanks to the new system of removing the filter element along with the reservoir.
Thanks to the Quikclamp system, the innovative range of IMI Norgren Excelon® Plus products can be used for both stand-alone units and modular systems. With the one-piece Quikclamp system with integrated wall mounting, units can be installed and removed without disconnect  any pipe connections.

General specifications

  • Port sizes 1/4 '' 3/8 ", 1/2" and 3/4 "
  • Air flow up to 10,000 N / liter
  • Thread type ISO G or NPT
  • Medium: compressed air
  • Pressure up to 20 bar
  • Temperature up to 65 ° C

All internal and external surfaces are protected with an electrophoretic coating which provides a excellent protection against rust and flaking.

Main functions:

  • Water extraction class 8 in accordance with ISO8573-1. Better than 95% water extraction at 100% flow
  • Robust and easy to install
  • Unique Micro oil mist technology
  • Standard possibility to mount padlock on the shut-off valve and the controller
  • Rotatable 3/2 shut-off valve
  • A unique double safety lock on the bowl with an audible click when properly attached and a safety catch that prevents the bowl from being removed under pressure
  • Only 25 mm is required when disconnecting the bowl - Ideal for limited space

Excelon® Plus 82 series replaces the existing Excelon® 72 series.

Switching to the Excelon® Plus is very easy.

The fasteners and Quikclamps of the Excelon® Plus are the same as with the old series and all Excelon accessories are compatible with the new series.

Why upgrade:

  • Smaller and lighter than its predecessor, yet the same Norgren quality!
  • Rotatable safety valve for easy isolation of the system.
  • A unique double safety lock on the bowl with an audible click and a safety catch that prevents the bowl from being removed under pressure.
  • Simple filter maintenance system where the element is removed together with the bowl. Only 25 mm of space is required for this.
  • Water extraction class 8 in accordance with ISO8573-1. Better than 95% at a flow of 100%.
  • Can be easily configured online.
