ABB launches new Smart Temperature Monitoring Relay
Innovative temperature monitoring relay uses smartphone app to make setup and configuration faster. Flexible configuration allows use in a wide range of applications and enables significant stock reductions
ABB is launching a new Smart Temperature Monitoring Relay, which aims to meet different customer needs with just one versatile device. Innovations include an LCD screen that provides status updates and readings with a single glance and Near Field Communication (NFC) that enables users to adjust settings with one touch of a smartphone, making installation around 80 percent faster and more intuitive than ever before.
ABB is writing the future of safe, smart and sustainable electrification with innovations that make life simpler for customers. For the development of the Smart Temperature Monitoring Relay, our experts focused on making the configuration and parameter selection as simple as possible. This game-changing device promises to be a massive time-saver for customers. The Smart Temperature Monitoring Relay covers an enormous range of applications, eliminating the need for companies to stock, manage and configure a lot of different devices. Its wide measuring range and compatibility with different sensors, such as the PTC and PT 100, makes the device flexible to fit applications as desired. The device offers predefined settings for popular applications, storage space for user-defined settings, and a neat solution to copy-and-paste settings when commissioning numerous devices.
The Smart Temperature Monitoring Relay has a liquid crystal display that shows key measurements and maintenance information. An intuitive push-rotate-button user interface makes it just as simple to set thresholds and parameters.
ABB has simplified and streamlined the configuration process significantly thanks to the device’s compatibility with the free ABB EPiC smartphone app, which uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to make a fast, wireless exchange of data and information possible. The EPiC app is for configuring and checking the status of ABB’s low-voltage products. Using the app, users can edit parameter settings more quickly, store this information in the app, and copy the settings straight onto other devices – even if they are not powered. Users can upload parameters to the cloud and share them with colleagues worldwide within seconds.
The Smart Temperature Monitoring Relay is a step into a smart, digital future. Users have all the information they need with just one look. They can configure devices with just one touch of their smartphone. And inventory levels can be shrunk significantly by stocking just this one versatile device.
ABB’s temperature monitoring relays are used extensively in industries around the world to ensure essential equipment operates safely and reliably at all times. Many fields of application, including marine, can be covered with the new and innovative relays as well.

Eneco - Green light for green electricity and steamRead moreEneco Bio Golden Raand, located in the port area of Delfzijl, converts biomass into green electricity and green steam. Each year, the plant processes approximately 300,000 tons of waste wood from the Netherlands and neighboring countries. As part of Eneco’s climate ambitions, a project began in 2022 to replace the existing fluorescent lighting in and around the boiler room. The project was carried out under the supervision of itsme. “Two factors were important in this process: the cost, of course, but also the level of service.”
