Siemens - TIA Portal V19

Siemens has introduced the latest version of its Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) portal, TIA Portal V19. This version offers intuitive motion control and full integration of engineering, control and drives.

Motion control has become even easier with TIA Portal V19. It is intuitive for non-experts and new users. Machines and systems are becoming increasingly complex due to the need for automation and the growing demand for motion control and automation technology.

TIA Portal V19 has new features that improve engineering, such as software units for modularisation and the engineering feature Named Values that enables readable and maintainable code. These enhancements also support the use of SIMATIC CPUs in key segments of mechanical engineering.

With the integrated SIMATIC Motion Interpreter, no extensive programming knowledge is required. It works as a navigation system where the user enters simple sequential motion instructions. The SIMATIC Motion Interpreter then takes over the programming of the motion commands.

The innovative redundant PLCs allow seamless data exchange with different systems via OPC UA communication. The PLC can now act as an OPC UAserver, increasing interoperability with other systems.

TIA Portal V19 allows modules to be integrated into the central rack of the S7-1500R and S7-1500H redundant controllers. This includes, among others, a System Power Supply module. In addition, additional Communication Processors (CP1543-1) can be added to the redundant PLCs, significantly improving system security, and these CP cards can also be used for OPC UA communication to higher-level systems. Integration of existing Profibus hardware with the redundant PLCs is now also possible via the IE/PB Link HA, which acts as an interface between the Profinet and Profibus networks.

With these new capabilities, TIA Portal V19 offers seamless integration, extended functionality and enhanced security for redundant PLC systems, taking industrial automation to the next level.

    Siemens - New hardware CPU1514SP-2PN
Along with the release of TIA Portal V18, Siemens is introducing an extension to its hardware portfolio: the CPU1514SP-2PN. This new addition to the range builds on the existing controllers in the ET200SP series, including the CPU 1510SP(F) and CPU 1512SP(F), and offers significant improvements in speed, memory capacity and connectivity. What characterizes the ET 200SP series remains: its compact and space-saving design. The CPU1514SP-2PN is designed to meet the growing needs of industrial automation. With a more powerful processor and an additional PROFINET IO interface, users can now implement network isolation. This opens the door to various applications, such as separating automation and IT connections. The CPU 1514SP-2PN is available in four variants; a standard variant, a failsafe variant, a technology variant and a combination thereof.

Enduro - Complete package for heavy-duty work
Enduro Softslings builds machines for the manufacture of its own heavy lifting soft slings. For a new machine, it called in itsme for the full package: advice on the drives, supply of components and programming of the controls. “We completed the entire project in just over six months. That’s fast for such a specialised machine.”

Stimac - Good technical support for ever-changing specifications
If the description for an automation project is clear from the start, it is easy for the industrial automation specialist to give it substance. In practice, however, specifications often change during the course of a project. This happened to Stimac/SNK when designing the control technology for a horticultural machine. For the problems that arose during the process, itsme quickly provided Stimac/SNK with a solution. “When a customer calls us, we respond immediately. So it’s nice to have a supplier like itsme who can also help immediately.”
